Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival
The Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival takes place over 11 days in spring, usually the end of April into the first May Bank Holiday and including Staffordshire Day. The 2026 festival starts on Friday 24th April to Monday 4th May; featuring more than 50 events across one of the most beautiful and rich in heritage landscapes of the Staffordshire county.
There are walks for all abilities and interests; from strenuous hikes in the moorlands' most challenging terrain, to relaxing, flat strolls which are perfect for family days out.
The Staffs 3 Peaks Challenge walk visits all the 3 highest peaks in Staffordshire, fortunately they're all in the Moorlands !
Mindful Walking is less about covering distance and more about being present, exploring the landscape through all five senses, finding moments of calm and clarity in the natural world.
Led by volunteer community walking groups as well as well known land management groups such as the Peak District Rangers, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England).
There is a large selection of guided walks which are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, with many of the walks dog friendly too.
Most walks are free with a small charges for the talks and films that are on offer.
