Why the Staffordshire Moorlands?

The Staffordshire Moorlands likes to celebrate all that makes the district great, so take time to view the ‘what’s on’ calendar brimming with activities and events throughout the year.

Locals love to share their proud heritage with visitors, including the area’s role helping to forge the Industrial Revolution as well as inspiring leading lights in architecture and literature - did you know Rudyard Kipling’s parents named their son after Rudyard Lake, one of their favourite destinations?

Creativity also runs deep across the region, including Leek with its links to the arts and crafts movement, the beautiful National Trust owned Biddulph Grange Garden, and Pugin’s gothic revival gem - St Giles Church in Cheadle

The district’s variety means there’s a choice of accommodation, from hotels, B&Bs, inns and rooms, through to caravan parks, camping and glamping, as well as a wide range of self-catering options.

Enjoy a flavour of Staffordshire, with regular pitstops to sample quality sourced food and drink, proudly produced on the doorstep.

Take a look at our location on the map too. The geography of the Staffordshire Moorlands - right in the centre of the UK - makes the area an accessible choice, just a short drive from the M6, with rail and air services nearby.

There’s something for everyone, so be sure to plan your visit to make the most of all there is on offer.
