A major new distribution centre is set to create jobs in Burton when it opens at an industrial park in the town.
Super Smart Service (SSS) has agreed a deal to move into a warehouse at St Modwen Park, off the A38 Lichfield Road.
It has signed a 15-year lease at the 104,000 sq ft unit, from which it will store and deliver products for major ecommerce firms.
The company already employs more than 500 people and has confirmed new roles will be available in Burton this year.
Polly Troughton, managing director at St Modwen Logistics, said: "It's fantastic to be welcoming Super Smart Service to the line-up of businesses that have based themselves at St Modwen Park Burton.
"We've shown a continued confidence and commitment to the region with speculative investments across Staffordshire and this latest deal has only reinforced the strength of the logistics market in the area."
Charles Lu, general manager at SSS, said: "We’re delighted to be up-scaling our operations in the West Midlands.
"The strategic location of St Modwen Park Burton makes this an ideal location for us to expand and serve the local community.
"We look forward to growing and establishing our business here in Burton."
Make It Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire have supported Super Smart Services since their move to the area in 2019, Charles Lu added ‘Make it Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire also assisted us in providing data that helped us to make the decision to expand the business into Cannock in 2019. They assisted with looking at public transport provision to the area and have referred us to the Skills and Employability team at Staffordshire County Council who are helping us with recruitment of the skills that we need.’
