Chefs in Staffordshire

You’ll know Tom Shepherd from BBC’s Great British Menu – he was the winner of the main course round in the 2023 series, and created a Banana Man-inspired dessert, which often appears on the tasting menu at his restaurant, Upstairs by Tom Shepherd.

Thom Bateman, Chef Patron at The Flintlock at Cheddleton, has also appeared on Great British Menu, finishing runner-up to Tom Shepherd on the main course round. Thom is a well-known influencer with huge audiences on Instagram and TikTok.

Lichfield’s Liam Dillon, chef-owner of The Boat Inn, honed his craft at some of the world’s best restaurants, and came home to transform a run-down roadside pub into one of our best dining experiences.

The Boat is now one of the most sustainable restaurants in Staffordshire, with its own micro-farm! Pigs, hens, bees and trout are reared on site and all waste reused.
