Businesses across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are being urged to help shape the area’s new Local Industrial Strategy by simply completing a brief online survey.

Local business leaders are also being invited to attend one of the two Local Industrial Strategy workshops that are taking place this month.

Each Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area has been asked by the UK Government to form its own industrial strategy - reflective of each region's unique identity, strengths and needs. The newly-agreed Local Industrial Strategies will the outline clearly defined priorities for the cities, towns and rural areas across the United Kingdom, and how to maximise every region's contribution towards the UK's productivity.

The Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SSLEP) is currently developing its own Local Industrial Strategy - the SSLEP aims to support  the growth of local companies, help to spur enterprise and innovation within the reigion, and help to benefit the area's economy. The strategy will also set out investment plans from the SSLEP to achieve Staffordshire's economic growth.

Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire LEP's Acting Chairman, Alun Rogers said:
“Development of our Local Industrial Strategy is vital as it will steer our work as a LEP and ensure we can give the right support to our businesses."
“We cannot put it together successfully without the input of local businesses so they can be as productive as possible and our economy remains strong as we move forward. We also want to demonstrate to Government that as an area we will continue to play a key part in UK economic growth. I’d urge businesses to come on board and have their say.”

Sessions will be facilitated by Metro Dynamics, who are experts at developing strategies for places. They will provide a short summary of the key economic and business trends in the local area, facilitate discussion sessions about the opportunities in the region, and then discuss what support is best-suited to help local businesses to achieve their potential.
Refreshments will be provided at the events as well as the opportunity for networking.
