Robyn's Guide to a Great Day Out at Alton Towers Resort Three children posing on a Galactica ride test seat at Alton Towers.

Guest blogger Robyn Mills, aged 10, shares her top tips for making the most of a day at Alton Towers Resort.

First, do a little research on the rides and decide which ones you would most like to try.

The car park opens at 9am and the theme park opens at 10am so I recommend arriving early to ensure a smooth entry into the park.

Don’t forget to grab a map on the way as this makes it a lot easier to get around and there are maps dotted around the park.

If you don't know your way around, you're definitely going to need one – the park is massive!

Do you want to pack in as many rides as possible? If so, then here are some tips:  Three children standing in front of the Wicker Man ride at Alton Towers.

You’re going to want to start from one end of the park and work your way down. If you’re eager to get on every ride, then I would recommend taking the skyride.

My favourite rides were

  • Smiler
  • Rita
  • Thirteen
  • Toxicator

If you want a break from the rides I would suggest having a little wander around the peaceful gardens, this was really relaxing and one of my favourite bits.

If you have little ones, there is CBeebies Land with fun rides for toddlers.

On the way home we stopped off in a cute little town called Cheadle for dinner. We ate in a pizza place called Pizza La Pietra and it was delicious. The pizza was better than anything I have ever tasted before.

Thank you for reading my blog about how to make the most of your visit to Alton Towers. I hope you enjoyed it!
