Planning consent has been granted by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council to transformA the former Moneystone Quarry in the Churnet Valley into a holiday village.

The project is being led by Laver Leisure (Oakamore) and will see the quarry transformed into a sustainable tourist location comprising 250 woodland lodges, watersports facilities and a leisure hub to include a restaurant and swimming pool.

Peter Swallow, of Laver Leisure, said: “This is aA regionallyA significant and exciting scheme and approval of this application is an important milestone in its development.

“A lot of hard work has been put into every stage of the process and we are looking forward to delivering some of the tourism benefits that are identified in the Churnet Valley Masterplan.”

Laver Leisure were represented in their planning application by HOW Planning.
