Spring is blooming across Staffordshire and Easter adventures are right around the corner!

Whether you're planning family fun on a budget, searching for free days out, or simply looking to make the most of the lighter days and fresh air, get ready to hop into playful discoveries and unforgettable memories across our brilliant county. 

Here are 10 great ideas for cheap family days out in Staffordshire this Easter.

1. Trentham Estate

To celebrate the arrival of the Snoopy Trail at The Trentham Estate, Trentham Shopping Village is joining in the fun with the brand new, free Where's Woodstock? Trail.

From 27th March to 26th April, you'll find Snoopy's feathered friend in all sorts of funny scenes in the shop windows of the shopping village.

When you spot him, just fill in the trail sheet with the name of the shop you found him in, and when you've found them all, hand in your trail sheet for a chance to win a Snoopy merchandise bundle!

2. McArthurGlen West Midlands

It's the 5th birthday of McArthurGlen West Midlands, and their Easter Event is packed with budget-friendly fun!

From 30th March to 12th April, you can colour in the Doodle Cubes on the trail around the centre. There are five to discover, and Easter treats for everyone who completes their trail sheet.

And from 3rd-6th April, the Easter Bunny will be there, handing out chocolatey goodness on the malls, and hosting exclusive pottery painting sessions at Pretty Pots.

Not only that, there will be extra savings on outlet prices from 3rd-6th April, plus great places to eat and a huge play area for letting off steam.

3. National Memorial Arboretum

Arbie the Owl takes centre stage at the National Memorial Arboretum for their Easter Holiday Family Activities, from 30th March to 3rd April.

Explore the natural landscape on Arbie's i-Spy: Spring Trail (£2.50), a brand new trail through the fragrant blossoms and colourful blooms, and look out for signs of wildlife re-emerging from their winter slumber. Complete the trail and collect a prize!

Let nature be your inspiration in the Making Music Workshops (free, advanced booking essential), or the free, drop-in Arts & Crafts Sessions, and there's plenty more to enjoy too including The Stick Man Trail and two outdoor play areas.

Admission is free but there is a charge for parking (£8 cars, £5 motorcycles), with discounts available for booking in advance via the National Memorial Arboretum website.

4. Middleport Pottery 

Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent has a fantastic line-up of budget-friendly Easter activities in 2026, perfect for crafty kids and families. 

They’re running Easter Bonnet Workshops on 30th March & 1st April, plus Easter Pottery Painting Workshops on 3rd & 6th April, where children can paint figurines, plates or mugs with prices starting from just £3.25 for small items.

Workshops cost £5 admission for the session.  

There’s also Easter Play with Clay on 7th–9th April, a fun self-led clay session for just £3, with kids free to create anything from creatures to bottle ovens and take their artwork home.

5. Statfold Country Park

You can get 2 visits for the price of 1 at Statfold Country Park, Tamworth, this Easter!

Book to visit from 30th March to 12th April, and you'll get a free return visit to use over the same period.

So you can get two lots of meet & greets, trails and Easter hunts and much more - including the fabulous National Fairground Museum with its huge collection of vintage fairground rides and attractions.

6. Stafford Castle 

Stafford Castle is hosting its Easter Craft and Trail weekend on 4–5 April 2026, offering a fun, budget-friendly activity for families.

Kids can drop into the workshop to make an Easter-themed craft, then follow the woodland trail and enter the quiz for a chance to win prizes. 

It’s a relaxed, no-booking-needed activity that’s perfect for a low-cost Easter outing.

7. World of Wedgwood

This Easter break sees the brand new, free, Play Space open its doors in the V&A Wedgwood Collection at World of Wedgwood.

Designed for families and young visitors aged 3-7, the space has been carefully curated to showcase iconic Wedgwood pottery designs and designers. 

There are interactive games, dress up areas, and much more, from 28th March.

And from 30th March, there are daily pottery painting sessions (charges for flatware or figurines, starting from £7 each), Clay Club Potter Tots for the Under 5s on Fridays (£10 children, free for adults), and the Clay Club Potter's Wheel Class (£25 children, free for accompanying adults).

8. Uttoxeter Racecourse

The Sausage & Cider Festival Raceday at Uttoxeter Racecourse (28th March) is perfect if you're looking for an exhilarating family day out to start the Easter holidays.

Enjoy seven thrilling jump races, and a tantalising selection of gourmet sausages and seasonal ciders, plus live music from The High Notes, and even a sausage-eating competition!

It's sure to be a lively and unforgettable atmosphere, pairing delicious treats with adrenaline-pumping sporting action, and other fantastic entertainment.

Tickets start at £13, and it's free for under 17s - if accompanied by a paying adult. 

9. The Little George

There's an Easter Egg-stravaganza at The Little George, Eccleshall, this March and April!

The fun all kicks off with the Eccleshall Music Festival (27th-29th March), with street food and great local bands and musicians at The Little George, Holy Trinity Church, and other venues across Eccleshall.

On 3rd April, you can take the family on the free Easter Egg Hunt, enjoy a relaxing afternoon of crafting, and maybe win a prize. There's no need to book so just drop-in on the day.

And you could also enter the Sunflower Planting Competition - decorate a pot, plant a seedling, and win a £20 bar voucher if yours is the biggest on 26th June.

10. Dorothy Clive Garden

Join the team at the Dorothy Clive Garden, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, for their annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Every day from 30th March to 12th April, you can explore these stunning gardens to find the hidden treats. The trail is free, but the usual admission prices apply - £8 adults, £2 children (plus booking fee).
