Online gambling giant, bet365 has announced a multi-million pound package of support for its 4,000-strong workforce to ensure that employees are not financially worse off amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based firm has announced that all of its 4,389 staff will receive guaranteed earnings for at least the next five months - to mitigate the effects of COVID-19. The bookmaker - which is owned by The Coates family - has also safeguarded jobs, promising that there will be no job losses at the company until a review takes places at the end of August.
The same measures will also apply to Stoke City Football Club, of which Peter Coates is Chair.
A spokesperson for bet365 commented:
"In times of uncertainty it is essential that we reassure our people of the commitment we have to them and the wider community.
"They have been instrumental in our success and will continue to be so throughout these troubling times and beyond, when normality will inevitably be restored."
