A new £45million development in Staffordshire has finalised construction, creating the potential for up to 700 new jobs…

A partnership between Liberty Property Trust and Stoford Developments has delivered the construction of two new industrial/logistic units at Liberty Park Business Park, Lichfield. The new buildings – L115 and L48 – deliver 115,000ft² and 48,000ft² of Grade-A industrial accommodation and bring the capability for up to 700 new jobs (once occupied).

The units – located at Liberty Park in Lichfield, Staffordshire – boast good road links, with access to the A38 nearby, as well as a high-level specification:

  • Detached, self-contained and secure units
  • 10m internal height
  • 50KN/m² floor loading
  • More than 230 (combined) car parking and lorry spaces.

Based on a 30-acre development site, which is just a few minutes’ walk from Lichfield Trent Valley train station, Liberty Park in Lichfield also has planning consent for approximately 441,000ft² of further development, including build-to-suit units ranging from 40,000ft² to 350,000ft².

Major improvements have been made to the site’s access and infrastructure, including new car parking facilities and the replacement of a road bridge over the West Coast Main Line.

Andrew Blevins, Liberty Property Trust’s UK Managing Director, commented:

“Liberty Park, Lichfield is an exciting development that has been built in response to demand in an undersupplied market. We fully expect both new units to be attractive to high-calibre occupiers keen to secure market leading industrial/logistics facilities adjacent to the A38 and close to the M6 Toll.”

“We are delighted to have completed work on this major employment project, which provides quality industrial and logistics accommodation in a strategically important location.”

Current occupiers at Liberty Park include DHL, Newell Rubbermaid, Florette, Tesco and Palletways.

Liberty Park is the first business development project to be backed by the Government’s Growth Deal, benefiting from a £4million funding package. The development has been delivered with the support of Staffordshire County Council and the Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
